Slide 2, description of your color
Slide 3, how you are like your color
Slide 4, how you are not like your color
Slide 5, Strengths of your color
Slide 6, Limitiations of your color
Slide 7, good careers for  your color
Slide 8, sources, ask the audience if they have any questions
Color Code Test.  Click on Free personality test, make up an account using a fake or real email address, take the test, copy and paste and  save the results in a word document.

When you turn in the PowerPoint, turn it in like this:

Turn in the completed projects to the inbox.  For the inbox, you have to right click on the inbox icon, then drag the icon to the desktop, lift up the right mouse button and choose create shortcut, and drop the completed assignments into the inbox folder.  If you drag the entire inbox to the desktop, I’ll never receive the file.  If you try to drag the completed file into the entire inbox and not the shortcut, it seems to just give me a shortcut instead of the actual data file.  If I only get a shortcut, I can’t grade your work when you are not logged in.

For the brochure, be sure to look at the example.  The brochure is completed using Microsoft Publisher, found under Start, Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher.  Be sure to click on number 2 to get to the second page.
Refer to the Color Code document and PowerPoint we looked at in class for the Color Code PowerPoint Presentation for information to use to create the brochure.

  April
Today we will begin creating the First part of your Power Point Presentation.  We will present these to the class as if you are making a presentation to the City Council of the city where your team is located.  Click here for the Scoring Guide for this presentation.

Step 1:  Start a new PPT presentation and add 8 NEW slides to the BEGINNING of your presentation.
Step 2:  PPT 2007 Choose a "Slide Design"  that compliments your team mascot/colors or create one of your own.  On 2007, you can hide the background on the slides (your promotional video) you do not want it to appear.

PPT 2003 you need to click on "Format" and then click on "Background".  You must then create a background for each slide in this portion of your presentation.

Step 3:  Choose a simple transition for each slide (You must use the same transition when moving from slide to slide in this portion of your presentation.
Step 4:  Add the following content and graphics to your slides
  • Slide 1:  Name of your team, Logo, Your name and title, picture of you is optional
  • Slide 2:  Info on your team—kind of team, league you are in etc.
  • Slide 3:   Charity events—highlight the events you will do for local charities—recognizing how important it is to the community
  • Slide 4:  Team Roster
  • Slide 5:  Team Schedule- highlight special event days
  • Slide 6:  Highlight famous player—give statistics on the player, picture, etc.
  • Slide 7:  Highlight famous player—same as slide 6
  • Slide 8:  Home Opener Information
Step 5:  Format the text and graphics on each slide.  Animate appropriately.  For example you may each event on  Slide #3 to come in to the presentation individually.
Step 6:  Use spell check

Finally, together we will go over the final formatting and timing of your presentation.   You will want to rehearse your presentation with your PPT before giving it.  Partner up with someone in the class and present to them.  Give each other feedback about your presentation skills, as well as the overall appearance of your PPT.

Today you will be using Power Point  to create a promotional video presentation.  The video is added onto the last pages of the PowerPoint we started yesterday.
  • Set up a folder and name it "last name_promotion"
  • Open up a PowerPoint Presentation document and name it "last name_presentation" then save it to the above folder
  • Open up the folder called "Music" in the shared drive.  Choose one of the songs for your presentation and save it to the above folder.

If you wish to use a song of your own (doesn’t work at school)...
  • Click on the following link and convert your musical selection to a MP3 file.   http://www.mediaconverter.org/
    • Click on "Upload file" and select the music file you saved in the previous step
    • Click "ok"
    • Click "Go to next step"
    • Select output file type as "mp3"
    • Once the file is converted save to the folder you made earlier
  • Now you can begin assembling your presentation
Promotional video requirements
  • Your video must promote your inaugural game/opening day game
  • Your video must include a variety of photos
  • Your video must be 30-45 seconds long
  • Your video must include a musical selection that plays during the entire video
  • Your video must use only ONE style of transition from slide to slide
  • Three of your slides must have a "panning" motion effect
  • Your video must incorporate your logo
  • Your video must include some sort of slogan/catch phrase
that relates to the pictures or song
Things to keep in mind:  Slides need to be timed.   Fast slide changes create a fast up beat feeling, slower changes create drama.  However, if your timing is off, your video will seem rushed or it will drag.  Preview your timings.  You can change each slide timing individually.
Extra Credit:  You can include extra items like edited music, video, voice over.  YOU would need to create these items at home and bring them in on a flash drive.
When you are finished save the song and the finished presentation in the folder you created.

Alice2: Magnet Fun (15 points) save as period_LastF_Magnet.

Create a world where Mana (People) has a magnet (Objects) held out in her left hand.  Add five metallic objects of your choice to the world.  One by one, have Mana point the magnet at each object.  As Mana points the magnet toward an object, have the object move to the magnet.  Have the last object be very large (perhaps a car from the Vehicles folder) so when Mana points at it, she instead is pulled toward the object while saying something like “Whoa!” or “Yikes! or “YOWZA!”

Alice2 Alternative, up to 15 points (save as period_LastF_Extra)
Create an Alice Project using a school appropriate topic.  Have 3+ pictures, 15+ instructions, have a story using words or pictures or both.

Extra Credit #2, Tortoise Gets a Cookie
Create a world having a tortoise (animals), a stool (furniture) and a cookie (kitchen/food).  Put the cookie on top of the stool. (Cookies are a tortoises favorite food) Position the tortoise and the stool side by side and then use a move method to move the tortoise 2 meters away from the stool.  (this way you know exactly how far the tortoise is from the stool.) Use a turn to face method to be sure the tortoise is facing the stool.  Write a program to move the tortoise to the stool to get the cookie.  Have the tortoise show its thanks by looking at the camera and waving an arm.

Create a snow people world as shown in the scene below.  Several snow people are outdoors on a snow covered landscape.  A snowman is trying to meet a snowwoman who is talking with a friend (another snowwoman).  The snowman tries to get her attention.  He turns to face the snowwoman and says “Ahem.”  She turns to look at the snowman, and he blinks his eyes at her.  She blushes (her head turns red).  But, alas, she is not interested in him.  She gives him the “cold shoulder” and goes back to talking with her friend.  The snowman hangs his head in disappointment and turns away.
